after obtaining the poketch through the storyline, your bottom screen will become a vital and interactive component of gameplay. you will probably be kicking yourself anytime you find an application for it that's out of order, implying that you've missed one or more along the way.
here i have compiled a complete list of poketch apps, including those only given at outside events.
1 digital clock
obtained; when you get your poketch, this comes bundled.
keeps track of time on a 24:00 digital clock (example; 21:43 means 9:43 pm).
2 calculator
obtained; when you get your poketch, this comes bundled.
standard calculator. press the buttons to hear pokemons' cries.
3 memo pad
obtained; from the Poketch Co. president after your first gym badge.
basic drawing pad, unable to save what you draw, clears when you switch apps.
4 step counter
obtained; when you get your poketch, this comes bundled.
counts the number of steps you take (number of tile spaces you travel).
5 pokebelt
obtained; when you get your poketch, this comes bundled.
displays your current party in your belt, including their health and any hold items.
6 happiness check
obtained; from a woman in the Eterna city pokemon center.
grab a pokemon with your stylus to see how happy they are. happiness increases as your pokemon travels with you in your belt. some people give their pokemon massages and poffins, but i find that riding my bike up and down Cycling Road, which is south of Eterna city. when your pokemon exudes BIG hearts, his or her happiness is maxed, and is ready to evolve if applicable.
7 item finder
obtained; from your opponent when you encounter him or her on Route 207.
one of my most-used. center of the radar represents the tile you're standing on. tap the radar with your stylus to search the immediate area for items, which are represented by black pixels on the radar and a sound effect when detected. great app especially when you're in a rocky or otherwise crowded area where a hidden item is likely to be placed.
8 berry map
obtained; from the berry master on Route 208.
a world-map which shows the locations of berries that are growing and ripe to pick.
9 breeding center tracker
obtained; from the customer in the daycare center in Solaceon town.
monitors the lvl gains of parent pokemon and shows any eggs waiting for you to pick up from the elderly man outside the daycare center.
10 pokehistory
obtained; from a citizen of Solaceon town.
displays the 12 most recent pokemon you have obtained. tap them with your stylus to hear their cries.
11 misc. counter
obtained; the Veilstone dept. store.
keep track of anything, especially useful for EVs. unable to save, clears when you switch apps.
12 analogue clock
obtained; from a citizen of Celestic town.
standard analog clock. tap with your stylus to activate a clever night-light effect.
13 marker map
obtained; from the Poketch Co. president after your third gym badge.
a world-map that comes with 6 markers for important places. SAVES their placement on the map.
note: this map tracks the location of any pokemon you need to track across Sinnoh...
14 wireless search
obtained; from the Poketch Co. president after your fifth gym badge.
performs a local search of other active DS connections.
15 coin toss
obtained; from a resident of the Grand Lake Hotel.
basic random generator. useful if you're indecisive about something.
16 type chart
obtained; from the Poketch Co. president after your seventh badge.
reveals whether one type of attack is super-affective (!!!!), regularly affective (!!), or not affective ( ).
17 calendar
obtained; from the resident living in the house in north-eastern Sunnyshore City after you bring her a pokemon with a serious nature.
a basic calendar that displays the date.
18 pixel pad
obtained; from the resident living in the house in north-eastern Sunnyshore City after you bring her a pokemon with a naive nature.
pixel art with 4 shades of the background color. saves the image until you clear the image manually (one pixel at a time).
19 roulette
obtained; from the resident living in the house in north-eastern Sunnyshore City after you bring her a pokemon with a quirky nature.
a basic roulette. tap with your stylus to start and stop the arrow.
20 pokeradar rankings
obtained; from Prof. Oak in the pal park.
displays the 3 longest pokeradar chains you have encountered.
21 snorlax stopwatch
obtained; from a girl in the pal park after showing her a snorlax.
a basic timer that counts down to 0. useful for keeping track of immediate dead-lines.
22 tint customizer
obtained; from a girl in the pal park after showing her a kecleon.
offers different backlight colors for the poketch. affects all other apps. saves until you switch it manually.
23 breeding compatibility
obtained; nintendo event.
quick way to check the compatibility of two pokemon from your party. 3-heart scale of compatibility. if they cannot breed, the luvdiscs will turn away from each other.
24 voltorb stopwatch
obtained; nintendo event.
a basic timer that counts up.
25 loudred alarm clock
obtained; nintendo event.
a basic alarm clock. loudred will cry out when the alarm activates.
